Avoid The Latest Gas Saving Scam: Turning Water Into Gas
It is nothing short of outrageous how many companies attempt to profit and are profiting from the desperation of those trying to increase their gas mileage and save on gas. They pile on the dung so much that it reeks over the tops of Sequoia Trees. They are experienced and expert modern day snake oil salesmen when it comes to marketing their product and/or books by using ploys, gimmicks, and lies…so good in fact, that many fork over their hard earned dollars to these companies as though they were giving it to a trusted friend.
Peddlers of the latest gas saving scam tout that you can get “gas from hydrogen” or “gas from water” by using their product or using their informative book to make your own. Consider the following before delving into your pocketbook and using your credit card with rewards program to buy a book or product that boasts how you can save on gas and improve mileage:
- Do not be fooled in to thinking that just because Honda has come out with a hydrogen cell based fuel car, the FCX Clarity, that it adds an ounce of legitimacy to the postulations of companies selling gas from hydrogen products.
- Do not allow scientific mumbo jumbo to sway you. Legitimate scientific studies are peer reviewed and done by more than one reputable institution. If a site or book says you can make your vehicle more fuel efficient by turning water into gas, check out the “scientific institution.”
- Do use trustworthy consumer based websites such as Consumer Affairs or Consumer Reports, when determining whether a product is true to its claims.
- Do not trust websites where such products are said to work. Often times people are paid to promote products as though they are regular everyday people who have benefited from using them. The same warning should be adhered to when going to website forums or Q & A sites…you have no clue who is on the other end of the computer.
- Do use common sense. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seen as a pain in the almighty rear by quite a few people when it comes to their “Go Green” campaigns and promotions…they’d be all over consumers worldwide to make their own handy-dandy water to gas converters or encourage them to buy hydrogen to gas products to help “Save the Earth.” The fact they aren’t should clue us all in that something is amiss.
